Tech Updates

cover

A weekly, source-backed digest of what changed across our domains — so you can stay current without watching every release-notes feed yourself.

Each domain has its own page that accumulates weekly entries, newest first. Within every weekly entry you'll find two parts:

  • What changed in Google Cloud — anything relevant to that domain: announcements, general-availability and preview transitions, deprecations, notable fixes and new features, each pinned to an official primary source.
  • Industry — what's moving in the wider field for that same domain (non-GCP), clearly labelled as commentary and attributed to a named source.

Domains

Each week's blog post ties all five together in one place with a short highlights summary and an industry outlook: which developments are emerging, which are real trends, which are noise, and a short learning queue worth your time.

How this is produced

Updates are drafted automatically every Monday morning (UTC) by a scheduled Claude Code routine that runs the repository's tech-updates skill (.agents/skills/tech-updates/), and land as a pull request for human review — nothing publishes unreviewed. The skill keeps a ledger of everything already reported, so older announcements are not presented as new; preview to general availability transitions are reported as transitions. Factual claims must carry an official source and date; anything unverifiable is dropped or flagged rather than smoothed over. Treat each PR as a draft and correct it before merging — you own what you publish.
