Introducing the Solution Block Hub
We build a lot of things at Aliz. Terraform modules, data pipelines, GenAI agents, app templates — hundreds of repositories across the organization. The problem is that nobody can find any of it. Someone on the Data track builds a BigQuery CDC pipeline, and six months later someone on AppDev builds the same thing from scratch because they didn't know the first one existed.
The Solution Block Hub fixes this. It's an AI-powered platform that automatically discovers, summarizes, and indexes our GitHub repositories — and puts a Gemini-based search assistant in front of the whole thing.
Here's the short version:
- A scheduled pipeline scans the
aliz-aiorg twice a week, summarizes every reusable repository with AI, and publishes those summaries as the knowledge base for a Gemini Gem. - You describe your problem to the Gem in plain language, and it recommends existing solution blocks, templates, and agents you can reuse — so you don't rebuild what already exists.
- To make your own repo discoverable, tag it
solution-block, prefix it withsb-, add a CODEOWNERS file, and state its maturity in the README. The collector picks it up automatically.
There's a lot more to it — the full pipeline (collector → prefilter → summarizer → uploader → Gem), the 10-section review framework that defines what "reusable" really means, and how to contribute to the platform itself.
